Miers to step down?

Who wants to bet that Harriet Miers will voulentarily step down, and that Bush will appoint Gonzalez(current attorney general) in her place?

Here's a story from september with the headline: Gonzales again emerges as Supreme Court contender In it he's seen as someone neither parties are really happy about. However, after this fiasco, I am sure republicans would be more ready to vote for him than meirs. They've basically said their piece on Miers - she's not going to be confirmed. At least I don't think so.

And one beautiful quote from the Right:

Sen. Sam Brownback, a Kansas Republican, said on ABC last week that there was "a good chance" he would vote against Miers if she said that Roe v. Wade was "settled law."

So, who's with me or do you have your own theory on what will happen?
