Old Skool B-day: SNES is 15 years old

"It" was, of course, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, which arrived in America 15 years ago this week. Back then, Nintendo was flying high on the seven-year worldwide success of its original NES console. Still, by the end of the 1980s, its competitors were beginning to make strides toward carving themselves a slice of the market Nintendo practically monopolized.
