Dune, Arrakis, Desert Planet

I just watched Dune - the David Lynch version from 1984 - which we newly purchased this year. It has recently been re-released. For a while, it was out of print and impossible to find. But, this past January it was released again in a spiffy new form, along with the extended version of the movie on side B of the disc. So, in addition to the 2hrs and 17 mins of the original theatrical release, there's the other Alan Smithee version which clocks in at 2 hrs and 57mins. Tons of extras and a nice metallic DVD case, too - which makes it feel oh so special to own.
