For all you Florida Pholks ...

and anyone who may be in Florida between Jan. and May:

As some of you know, Phil, Rosey and I camped out at the beautiful Spanish Moss Farms last month, and enjoyed the "Down on the Farm" festival, which featured three days worth of music, an EXTREMELY chill atmostphere and a small crowd of really nice party-goers.

A few days ago, Rising Jupiter (a local label that works at "Bringing national touring bands and jammin' local musicians together for HOT SHOWS at COOL Prices") announced "Uphonia," a festie due to occur at Spanish Moss Farms (May 13-15). The lineup is pretty great and includes Mofro, Perpetual Groove, Oteil and the Peacemakers, The Codetalkers w/Col. Bruce Hampton, Vince Welnick w/Gent Treadly, Uncle John's Band ... and other local yokels. The LATEST ADDITION IS KELLAR WILLIAMS!! Not that I've ever heard his stuff but I've read good things about him! Tickets are $50 each until Dec. 31 (up to 4 tickets per person).

Other GREAT shows coming up in 2005:

Jannus Landing: Galactic/North Mississippi All-stars (01/15/05, $23/25); 01/27/ George Clinton & P-Funk (01/27/05, $??); Snoop Dogg (02/01/05, $37.50 / $40 -- and I'm only half joking); The Yonder Mountain String Band/The Del McCourry Band (02/09/05, $??).

Skipper's Smokehouse: Garaj Mahal (01/15/05, $10/$13 -- DOH! Galactic & N. MS Allstars playing!); Camper Van Beethoven (01/25/05, $15/$18); Mofro (01/29/05, $12/$15); Perpetual Groove w/Robert Walter's 20th Congress ($12/$15, 03/11/05)

Masquerade: The Show is the Rainbow (03/05/05, $6/$8, and I've never heard of this guy, but the description totally drew me in: "The Show is the Rainbow is a one man electrofunk experience. An ex-televangelist with a story to tell, he brings the pain, and keeps it real." ALL RIGHT!!! Just what I need, a little pain with my music!)

JORDAN KNIGHT, AMPHITHEATRE 02/12/05 (now, this time I'm REALLY joking!!!)

And, of course, Langerado, where we'll DEFINITELY be in mid-March.

So far (aside from Jordan Knight), the concert schedule for 2005 is lookin' GOOD!!!!!! Too bad Umph couldn't schedule another FL date aside from Langerado. (Sigh).
