Laser Beams could get you in trouble
The original source of this story
NEWARK, N.J. A New Jersey has been charged under the Patriot Act with shining a laser beam at an aircraft.
While the F-B-I says there is no link to terrorism, officials called David Banach's (BAN'-ichz) actions "foolhardy and negligent."
Authorities say Banach admitted to federal agents that he pointed the light beam at a jet and a helicopter over his home last week.
Banach has been charged only in connection with the jet. He was released on 100-thousand dollars' bail after appearing in court on a charge of interfering with the operator of a mass transportation vehicle and making false statements to the F-B-I. Banach initially claimed his daughter aimed the device at the helicopter.
He could get up to 25 years in prison.
I found a much more in depth version of this story.
